(B) Schematic diagram of the mechanism by which DMJ inhibits class I α1,2-mannosidase in the Golgi. α1,2-mannosidase I normally trims the α1,2-linked mannose on glycoproteins; however, DMJ inhibits α1,2-mannosidase I activity and thus restricts the oligosaccharide processing to high-mannose forms.
