  1. Mutants of the repB gene were synthesized that contained a single codon substitution. Growth was determined by optical density measurements in a microplate reader. Measurements were performed in triplicate. ‘+’ indicates growth in all trials, ‘-‘ indicates no growth in all trials, ‘+/−‘ indicates growth in some (but not all) trials.
