Specific fluorescence intensity (a, b) and specific fluorescence emission rate (c, d) during the oxygen-limited cultures. Specific fluorescence intensity was calculated as the slope in the plot of FbFP fluorescence intensity (F-F0) vs scattered light intensity (I-I0). Specific fluorescence emission rate was calculated multiplying the specific growth rate of the corresponding time period by the specific fluorescence emission. The OTRmax of the cultures is indicated in each graphic. White bars represent the values corresponding to the aerobic phase and black bars those corresponding to the oxygen-limited phase. Values are average of three cultures. Vertical lines show the standard deviation (n = 3) of average values
