Nesprin-1 plays a regulatory role in the proliferation, apoptosis, and myogenesis of MSCs. a MSCs were transfected with either LV-siNesprin-1 or LV-GFP and cell apoptosis was analyzed using flow cytometry. Apoptosis was the greatest in the LV-siNesprin-1 MSCs. b Nuclear morphology was observed 72 h after transfection (DAPI). The LIV-siNesprin-1 group exhibited nuclear fusion and fragmentation. c Differentiation of the LIV-siNesprin-1 group was significantly slower than the LV-GFP and Normal groups; majority of the cells remained in the G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle.
