Optical section from CLSM. This 30 μm thick section shows a cross section of each spheroid captured (91 out of 96 spheroids were captured in this sample). Variations in the light intensity of the spheroids are due to their depth relative to the section plane. Higher intensity spheroids are deeper relative to the section plane than lower intensity spheroids
